Life for Rent习惯的译法是漂泊的心，
也有人直译成《租来的生命》，
我更愿意称为《人生如寄》。
其实都是一样的，人生如寄，所以轻盈，所以漂泊，所以恍惚迷离。
我们不知道该往何处去，好在本来就没有所谓的目的地，也没有什么能阻止我们天涯浪迹。
因为，我们从来没有真正拥有过什么东西，仅仅是念想而已。
蒂朵的歌声尽管飘渺，却远远地眷顾着你的喜怒哀乐及爱恨嗔痴，
有一份音乐上的自信与成熟，是在你我身旁抚慰心灵的世间天使。
在城市森林穿梭的心突然有被触动的感觉，没有一只烟让我真的觉得好抽，

在这张专辑中，Dido主要表现了她的音乐工作的艰辛，以及感情上的挫折等许多令她伤心的记忆，特别是在最近和多年的男友分手的情形，颇有些“功名利禄虽苦取，红颜知己更难求”的感觉。在上一张大获成功的专辑《No Angel》之后，Dido长时间的投入到制作这张新专辑的工作中，为了保证专辑在音乐和商业上不会出现大滑坡，Dido也采用了通常的做法，那就是尽量保持上张专辑的原班人马操刀，所以这张专辑还是主要由她的哥哥Rollo担任制作人，但是这也在一定程度上影响了音乐在创新方面的工作。事实上也是如此，在音乐风格上基本和上一张没有太多的区别，不过一些旋律的处理上比前一张专辑显得更为自然了。此外专辑里也有一些令人回味的单曲，诸如《White Flag》《Stoned》《See You When You're 40》《Do You Have a Little Time》以及同名主打《Life for Rent》等。
对于整张专辑中比较多的伤感成分来说，专辑的电子融合流行民谣式的音乐风格表现起来也还是比较自然，透彻的，旋律加上歌词，这份伤感对于那些过了而立之年又不幸遭遇感情挫折的人们来说可能会引起共鸣。对于喜欢Dido的歌迷来说，这是一张仍然具有Dido特点的专辑，因为音乐风格上没有大的变化，所以还可以听到和以往同样的Dido，可以说这就是《No Angel》的音乐在新世纪的延续。
